So here I am in New York with Lisa. We go around looking at the sights and stores. I had planned out Kid Robot NY and Giant Robot NY for my urban vinyl toys. Also so i can say that I have been to the same stores in LA, SF and now NYC.

So after GRNY, we ask the clerk if there are any street vendors in the area. She says yeah the next street over has some. So we wander. I find an quaint little japanese toy shop. Has a minor amt of anime. but more on that later.

We keep walking and we see the street vendors across the street we are walking. As we cross the intersection i see to the left, down the cross street a Toy Tokyo. Now the font and color fooled me. It is in the same font style and coloring as the "toy story" logo. So i didnt connect it with toy Tokyo the online Urban vinyl store.

Worlds of differece from GRNY and Kid robot NY. I would describe those stores as sparse art space. This Toy Tokyo store lives up to its name. From the website and their art direction i placed them akin to the previous two stores. However I was wrong. they are jam packed with goodies. Just like a toy store/hobby shop in japan. I could not believe that I forgot all about Toy tokyo and just happen to stumble upon this gem of a store by accident or fate.

And that is where i found this jem. Bootleg Megatron.

Inner legs are diecast

arms and neck are diecast. Even the hinge for the barrel is diecast.

And as if this bootleg cant get any better . . .

FULL WORKING FIRING MECHANISMS!!!!!!

Even this little thingy can fire the pellets too!!

I give this a 10 of 10 for bootlegging

here is why. Fit and finish is not as nice as the bootleg G1 Optimus and cassettes that we see at F&S.

However the G1 prime is not complete. It has nice packaging but it is the netured french version. So the roller launcher doenst shoot as far or something.

This Megs does not have the packaging but it makes up for it in its complement of accessories. It has loose joints and the chrome paint isnt so great in some areas. However it is solid in gun mode and that is all that matter to me.

Best part of all is that it is only $19.99!!!!!!! that is why this is prolly one of my favorite bootlegs of all time.
